01 The numbers
Won, then held for two years.
Winning a local ranking is the easy half. Holding it while competitors, Google updates and the map pack all move against you is the half that takes years. "Luton private GP surgery" went from 33 to 1 and has stayed there since early 2024. "Aesthetic treatments Luton" went from 55 to 2. "Ear microsuction in Luton" from 35 to 1.

What we did
Covered every service, not just the profitable one. A local clinic gets found for whatever the person needed that day. Forty-eight terms across six service groups means forty-eight ways in, rather than one page fighting for one phrase.
Won the boring terms first. Medical letters, certificates, blood test bookings. Low glamour, low competition, and they build the topical authority that makes the competitive terms winnable later.
Kept the profile and the citations consistent. Name, address, phone and categories aligned everywhere they appear. Unglamorous and non-negotiable for map pack visibility.
Said when the ceiling arrived. Traffic is flat because the rankings are already at the top. At that point the honest advice is to spend the next pound on conversion or on paid, not on more of this. We said so.
